The mechanics scare people more than the molecules

Most readers already know what they want to run. What stops them is the execution. Here are the eight questions we get asked most, answered plainly.

There is no single correct number. Bacteriostatic water is only the carrier, so the volume you add decides how many units equal your dose. A common setup is 2 mL of bacteriostatic water into a 5 mg vial, which puts 250 mcg in every 10 units on a 100 unit insulin syringe. Add the water slowly down the glass wall, never straight into the powder, and let it dissolve on its own instead of shaking. Pick a water volume that lands your dose on an easy line to read, then keep it identical for the whole vial.
